About us

SLIMBOOK started in 2015 in Spain with the aim of becoming the leading brand in the GNU/Linux computer market. Our mission is to provide a superior computing experience by delivering top-notch products that meet the needs of users in the ultrabook and notebook segments.

We were born to meet the demand for portable devices with Linux compatibility "ready to use," ensuring that our devices work optimally from the very beginning. Furthermore, our mission aligns with collaboration on various GNU/Linux projects to further enhance their ecosystem, working with desktops, distributions, and entities in the Open Source world.

SIf there's one thing that characterizes us at SLIMBOOK, it's our commitment to quality and excellence ingrained in our DNA. Our products boast an elegant aesthetic, offering not only powerful performance but also a sense of sophistication and style. So much so that in 2018, we were awarded Best Open Source Service/Solutions Provider at OpenExpo Europe 2018.

The SLIMBOOK brand belongs to the company Grupo Odin, founded in 2007 in Valencia, Spain. You can visit the company's corporate website (here) to get to know us better.

One of the cornerstones of our operation is our dedicated technical service team. This team consists of highly trained and experienced professionals. Whether it's troubleshooting, repairs, or technical support, our experts are always ready to provide the best possible service.

At SLIMBOOK, we understand that a laptop is more than just a device; it's an integral part of your daily life. Whether you're a creative professional, student, or business person, our goal is to ensure that your SLIMBOOK laptop seamlessly integrates into your workflow, providing a reliable and enjoyable experience.

If you are wondering where our computers are manufactured, the best thing to do is to see a presentation we made at the UNED in 2015 (link here). But remember that all brands manufacture in Asia, the difference is that we finish assembling them in Spain, with the language of the keys, hard disk, memory, etc, giving work here. The factories are OEMs/ODMs of first level like TongFang, Clevo or Compal, who work for brands like MSI, HP, DELL, etc. And although we are not like Apple and can't invent, we hire top quality components and finishes, improving manufacturing to the highest levels. And over the years, we've taken the word to the Linux kernel developers, to the big factories.

In 2018, we launched a new project associated with SLIMBOOK called Linux Center. It is the first multidisciplinary physical space in Spain, designed to spread open source and free technologies in which the community is the protagonist. A space where free courses are given, projects are presented, hardware is exhibited and knowledge and experiences are shared.
A place available for associations and communities, and of course, for individuals with concerns. The project is made by and for the community and is given for free, it has been adapted to the way the communities have been needing and currently also has a forum for its users :)
