AMD Ryzen Renoir debuts on Slimbook's laptops

The latest from AMD lands on Slimbook's laptops with two amazing premises:

- Most powerful CPU ever on a 14" ultrabook and just at 1.1Kg.

- Extreme performance in a 15.6" ultrabook envelope with amazing battery life.

Why?

Finally, after all these years of fine tuning from AMD, Linux and the Kernel team, Ryzen 4000 series processors outperform their Intel counterparts in most areas and they work beautifully with Linux.

You may have wondered why we haven’t offered anything from the Ryzen mobile line of CPU’s after all these years, but the truth is that until now, the Intel was lead was clear in either performance, battery life and Linux support with their mobile SKU’s. That’s why we didn’t bother until AMD had something really strong to compete like their new Renoir APU’s that left us in awe with their demolishing performance in most fields and solid Linux support.

AMD Renoir makes it’s stellar debut on the top of the line Slimbook models.

The Slimbook ProX and ProX 15.

But that’s not all. Our most internationally established model, the KDE Slimbook, debuts with an updated facelift and this new AMD Processor.

What CPU may you ask?, the most sought CPU in the mobile market right now, the AMD 4800H. Not the low powered “U” variant, we are talking 8 cores and 16 threads of mobile computing power that rivals and right outperforms even desktop processors from higher tiers. More so, the integrated VEGA 7 graphics solutions, trades blows even with dedicated utrabook GPU’s such as the MX series from Nvidia, all in a much lower power draw.

Specs highlights:

- AMD Ryzen 4800H powered 14" and 15.6" laptops.

- IPS Led displays with 100% sRGB coverage and over 300 nits of brightness.

- Magnesium–Aluminum light alloy chassis with weights from 1.1Kg to just 1.5Kg for the 15” model.

- Strong privacy control with BIOS switches to disable hardware components such as the webcam, mic and wireless interfaces.

- Huge battery capacity ranging from 47Whr on the 14” model and a monster 92Whr for the 15” model that will keep up with your work for the entire day.

- Keyboard layouts available in pretty much every language.

- Two finish options for choice:

            - The KDE Slimbook, with the beautiful KDE logo engraving on it’s back, Plasma key and last but not least, a completely customized KDE Neon operating system tailored by the amazing KDE developers team for the KDE Slimbook with built-in support for every bit of tech on the hardware.

            - The Pro X, with our classic logo and Tux key replacing the typical Windows key. Right now available with Slimbook OS, our custom Ubuntu edition fine tuned to work flawlessly on our devices. Other Linux distros are coming soon as well!

Always using the latest hardware and providing software to work with it when the user needs it:

- Infrared biometric camera that enables facial recognition in both desktop and terminal environments. Forget about typing your password when issuing sudo commands and add an extra layer of security to your device.

- Large surface touchpad with multi touch capabilities and gesture based shortcuts to improve your productivity.
